Market needs are creating advancements in software engineering. According to Standish group, Chaos reports have shown that over the years software development projects were not being accomplished either due to high-cost issues, or because of inability to be complete on time. Therefore, software developers keep looking towards better software development techniques like Agile. Recently Lean methods have also been adopted along with Agile methods by companies to help overcome these shortcomings and enable timely productions in the software industry. Lean is basically a manufacturing principle successfully used in tile automobile industry. To transform the manufacturing principle to a software discipline was a big challenge. Companies have started using the Lean methods in their own ways either in co,nhination with agile or on its own. However, there is no solid set of principles which companies follow to adopt Lean methods. All companies use it on ad hoc basis.
